The city of Medina, Washington is refusing to pay for President Obama’s Tuesday evening fundraising visit, arguing that previous presidential visits have costs local residents as much as $35,000 due to security related issues, as reported by Story Leak’s Mikael Thalen. Last week city council members decided to bill former Costco CEO Jim Sinegal, the host of the President’s $25,000 per plate Democratic fundraiser. While the area’s Democrats are calling Medina’s decision politically motivated, some think the idea is likely to catch on across the country.
