Beginning January 1, 2015 twenty one states will see an increase in minimum wages. Alaska, Arkansas, Nebraska and South Dakota recently approved increases during the November election. Either other states passed legislation two years ago. Critics of the pay raises say it will force businesses to cut down on hours and hiring.
