On Wednesday a shallow-water Gulf of Mexico drilling rig partially collapsed off the coast of Louisiana after catching fire from a ruptured natural gas well. The well, owned byt Walter Oil & Gas, ruptured releasing natural gas but no reports of oil according to the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. There were no injuries or casualties but 44 people were evacuated after the rupture. The rig is in 154 feet of water about 55 miles south of the coast of Louisiana.
