U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has released a new report warning consumers about the potential hazards of using virtual or crypto-currencies. CFPB provided a sic-page document outlining how the currency works, how to purchase them and dangers they may face. The document paints currencies such as Bitcoin as dangerous because they are not backed by “any government or central bank.” Bitcoin enthusiasts say the advisory unfairly focused on the negative possibilities.
